Rose Hills Memorial Park & Mortuary is happy to host the Inaugural DIA DE LOS MUERTOS CULTURAL FESTIVAL at the SkyRose Chapel, situated at the top of the hill and offering spectacular views of the city, making it the best place to celebrate this tradition.

To share the rich tradition and history of Día de los Muertos, Rose Hills is hosting the Día de los Muertos Cultural Festival to honor and celebrate loved ones who have passed away.  

This will become a signature event to share the culture and heritage of Día de los Muertos with all generations.

This year, Rose Hills will honor the tradition by celebrating with families and friends at their Memorial Park, which is visited by more than 3 million people each year.

The cultural festival is a family friendly event that includes activities and performances for young and old a like:

  • Art Exhibit inside SkyRose Chapel showcasing the talents of various artists
  • Jardín de la Rosa – an area of arts and crafts for children which includes mini workshops and interactive activities presented by local artists; children will learn to create masks, make paper, flowers and other fun activities tied to the festivities;
  • Mercado de la Rosa – a variety of vendors offering items from jewelry, apparel and art that tie into the history and iconic figures of Dia de los Muertos;
  • Plaza de la Rosa – a delicious array of traditional food and drinks
  • Teatro de la Rosa – center stage featuring performances and entertainment by local folklórico dance groups and a special performance by local band, La Santa Cecilia.
  • A community altar contest with a corridor for display and celebration, go to ALTAR CONTEST for registration form.
