The SkyRose Chapel and garden is nestled atop of Rose Hills Memorial Park offering spectacular views of Los Angeles, making it the best place to celebrate this tradition! The family festival included activities and performances for young and old alike. Attendees enjoyed a culturally rich day walking through SkyRose Chapel’s Art exhibit; a leisurely stroll through the marketplace to see artesian special treasures; a taste of L.A.’s best cuisine and sweets; a moving tribute that were the beautifully crafted altars honoring the memories of loved ones; and the sounds and performances of wonderful local artists.
Art Exhibit inside SkyRose Chapel showcased the talents of featured artist Hector Silva and local artists.
- Jardín de la Rosa – childrens’ area which included mini workshops especially designed for the event and interactive activities were presented by local artists as part of the festivities.
- Mercado de la Rosa – a variety of vendors offered items from jewelry, apparel and art that tied into the history of the tradition with iconic figures of Dia de los Muertos.
- Plaza de la Rosa – a delicious array of traditional food and drinks were offered.
- Teatro de la Rosa – center stage featuring performances from Ballet Folklorico de UCI, Pacifico Dance Company, Plaza de la Raza Youth Mariachi Ensemble and domingoSiete to the delight of the audience.
